Welcome to my writing blog!

This is a collection of my creative writing, published and otherwise, which I would like others to be able to read. The posts that follow are arranged from most recent to earlier.

You can choose to read haiku, poems, prose poems or personal essays from the menu on the right under CATEGORIES.

If you would like to read more of my haiku, you can find After the Night Rain: Haiku at Amazon.com and many other online booksellers.

I hope you enjoy your time here. Thanks for your visit!

    Hey Jim!

…His comment to me was that you are a “really great guy”. I’m talking about a member of the clergy with a clean shaven head and a wife who is also rostered clergy and twin daughters who are not rostered.
He was pastor at my former church here in Columbia.

You and I also share the writing bug, particularly haiku. That guy mentioned above (who I think is a “really great guy”) might casually mention an upcoming haiku contest, if he hasn’t already.

I hesitate to get more specific than this or about me (like my logins, passwords or shoe size), but my email address is readily available.

I think I’m a “really great guy” who just happens to write haiku. Is that enough common ground to begin conversation?

      Hello,
I just opened my blog after a number of months and discovered your comment. I would be glad to converse, so if you would care to email me at: eclakes3344@gmail.com
I would be happy to respond. We have a small haiku group at All Saints here in Mount Pleasant which meets virtually in the weeks leading up to and through Lent and Advent and gifts our work to the congregation around the Psalm texts for Sundays. If you are interested in joining us it would be great!
      Jim
